Entropy in Action

I'm gonna treat this thing like a very silent, very judgemental, and most importantly, free therapist.

remember when Jim introduced Spock to his own parents lmao we stan a legend

They definitely brought this story up during the wedding.

Sarek did it.

“Not so many know, but once James introduced me to my own son…”

Funny as that is, this reads as an absolute POWER MOVE to a father not proud of his son. “Look at that, he’s my First Officer because he’s AWESOME. You know who isn’t? You.”

No no no. You don’t understand. Kirk DOESN’T KNOW that this is Spock’s father. He’s talking up his first mate to the Vulcan Ambassador that Spock never bothered to mention is his DAD because their father-son relationship is THAT BAD. This is a power move but it’s not Kirk’s, it’s Spock’s XD

You take one look at that vulcan salute and tell me it isn’t the BIGGEST shit-eating grin

🖖 (derogatory)

live long and fuck you

Would this be one of those “micro-aggressions” the kids keep accusing me of?

weird, i was expecting vshojo to release a joke video, but this is legit

(disclaimer: yes, of course, it’s actually a joke, i just think it backfired cuz i like it a lot)

Protests don’t work when the people in charge no longer have to care what you think.

See “Protests in China” or “Singapore” or “BLM”

Also, an organized Protest is just that: A Protest.

We on the Left have devalued the idea of Protests.

We dress in weird, funny, sexy, and/or all of the above costumes and try to come up with pithy rhymes and emotionally open speeches and try to appeal to people’s inherent sense of empathic morality.

What we have forgotten is that these aren’t Protests, they’re Demonstrations. Shows of Solidarity. Shows of numbers.

Protests and Demonstrations are supposed to also supposed to be known as Organized, as in any time We want, We can put one of these things together.

Where we always fail is in taking into consideration that these things usually have another word preceding the word Protest or Demonstation.

Peacefull.

A Peacefull Protest is supposed to be a reminder that if it isn’t taken seriousky, the next time one of these things happen happen, it may NOT be Peaceful. An insinuation that next time, things may be Different in a very scary way.

And that’s the rub.

The people We keep protesting know, THEY KNOW, that if anything goes down less than Peacefully, it is going to go bady…for Us.

The cops are not and never have been on our side. Even if they empathize. Even if they sympathize. They are Peacekeepers, as in trying to keep the noise and destruction down to a minimum.

Peacemakers have a niche to fill, and it is always to keep a barrier between people, for good or ill, in the name of Peace.

To create societal change, you’re either supposed to work around them or fucking roll over them, and We don’t know how to do either, mostly (sadly) because We don’t know how to truly commit to any action without bogging ourselves down in unimportant, and generally meaningless minutiae.

Look at the infamous Jan. 6th Insurrection.

Cops only shot one of the fuggers, and took active beatings from the rest of the mob. Some have said this happened because they were supporting it secrtly, but damn few people are willing to take an ass-kicking just to make it “look good.”

Most-likely, the cops knew those people were definately violent, and any armed defiance likely would have meant they were going to pay for it, either because the mob was already on they ass, or because they knew these were the types of people who had weapons on them and fighting back would have resulted in a massacre.

They got rolled-over.

We have convinced ourselves that violence is evil, that anyone who has weapons are evil, and We have willingly divested ourselves from utilizing either because We are too Enlightened for that.

Then We convinced ourselves that the military & peacekeepers are evil (not necessarily Untrue, but also highly nuanced), and We condemn them both. We take care to scorn them at every point, and We pat ourselves on the back for being so Progressive Minded whilst being absolute dickheads to people who have hard jobs that exist specifically for harder times.

Except now, that means that We have physically & mentally disarmed ourselves, leaving weapons & violence to those “primitives” who would continue to use them…like violent criminals who don’t care, Police who don’t care, and the Military who really doesn’t care.

And when We protest, We get sad nobody takes us seriously, despite the fact there isn’t anything to take seriously.

People, until the Left gets its collective head out of its ass, We are going to continue to lose ground, because We are NOT scary, We are NOT Commited, and We are NOT respectable.

I don’t care anymore.

I tried.

For twenty plus years, I tried.

Now, I’m turtling up with my peoples, and when this all blows over, maybe I’ll be able to help fix shit.

Or not, in which case it won’t be my problem anymore anyways.

Arm yourselves. Organize youselves. Stop tar-pitting yourselves.

But it’s probably too late.

If anything, that roadmap Krieg tease undersold how much the Death Korps would be getting in the new year. Between the existing tanks and Veteran Guardsmen, this is at least as much of an army as any of the old pewter regiments had in the 90s. Arguably more.

Starting from the top, Lord Marshal Dreir is a great alternative to the Lord Solar for the role of, “general on horse mount,” and stands in his stead among any of the classic regimental heroes.

image
image
image

And if your gonna have one guy on a horse mount, you really ought to have an entire cavalry charge. I think they might have gone a little ham on the Krieg steeds’ claws, though - I liked them better a more like goat hooves, so that they look nearly like horses be not quite. Somebody at the studio clearly decided that’s insufficiently brutal.

image

Combat engineers are another adaptation of an existing Forge World kit that looks great. Loving the little screw drive remote mine, although it looks like it’s about twice as big as it ought to be to read better on the tabletop.

Artillery emplacements are big Krieg energy and these new heavy guns certainly deliver. The quad mortar is back again, as are two flavors of cannon and a rocket battery. Wouldn’t look at all out of place alongside the classic Basilisk platforms (which, who knows, may still make their way to plastic), or the next entry in the new lineup.

image

Classic heavy weapon carriages, once again in the 2nd Edition style. These are all a little bit more in tune with the nostalgic approach to Imperial Guard than the more modern take on the concept found in the Cadian Field Ordnance Battery, and I think helps them to fill a unique niche from the standard heavy weapons teams.

image

Rounding things out are a brand new command squad featuring not one but two Commissars (Lord and cadette), vox, standard and chemyst. I think adapting the quartermaster would have probably been a better pull but they seem to be leaning hard into the harsh environment specialists aspect. That combat accountancy servo skull goes hard, though.

Overall, solid. Very happy to see, and when taken alongside the many Solar Auxilia tanks now or soon to be available, represents over of the most comprehensive updates to a range yet seen.

If gw starts putting this level of effort into the other famous guard regiments I will be excited.

If gw doesn’t then it may be a sign that one of their most popular armies is the most Nazi looking. people and the community might need to deal with that.

I am begging you, please, read a book and stop getting your opinions from social media. Krieg don’t look like World War II Germans, they look like World War I French.

image

Not everything is a fascist dogwhistle. Most things aren’t, in fact.

Thank you.

I keep bringing up the French thing, from the dusk-blue color scheme, the Adtian helmets, and even the greatcoat style.

The most German thing about the Kriegsmen are the name, the masks, and the cavalry.

A sick tribute appeared outside the New York City hotel where UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was gunned down by an assassin on Wednesday.

A balloon with a sign taped to it reading ‘CEO DOWN’ over the image of a smiling star and party poppers was found outside the Hilton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan after Thompson, 50, was gunned down there Wednesday morning.

The balloon was spotted as many Americans have joked about the CEO’s death due to his company’s track record of rejecting medical claims.
